PowerShot G6 is equipped with extensive functions, merging high-resolution CCD with Canon's exclusive advanced technology to create outstand, sharp and refined image quality. Coupled with Canon's proprietary DIGital Imaging Core (DIGIC) processor, PowerShot G6 delivers outstanding image resolution and color fidelity, fast and accurate AF and AE operations, while accelerating processing speed. PowerShot G6 with a sharp increased resolution to 7.1 megapixel, the new CCD is effective for producing up to A2 size professional prints.

PowerShot G6 is 55% faster in focusing, 28% faster in zooming. Its start-up time has also been reduced, and all functions can be reset with a single touch. Its weight also drops by 11%. 2" LCD for Wider View
The PowerShot G6 incorporates an enlarged low-temperature polycrystalline silicon TFT color LCD from 1.8 to 2 inches, showing 100% of the picture area. Flush with the back of the camera in its closed position, it can be extended from the body and rotated through 270° allowing the user great flexibility in viewing subjects while shooting from unusual angles. Brightness is adjustable to match viewing conditions.

9-Point AiAF
Benefited from the 9-point Intelligence focusing system AiAF, the focusing speed of PowerShot G6 is rocketed by 55%. Subjects may be placed almost anywhere in the viewfinder frame. Unlike most cameras with fixed points for autofocusing, PowerShot G6 features Canon's FlexiZone AF system, allowing the user to move a single point to virtually anywhere in the frame to assure fast, accurate autofocus operation regardless of subject placement. Manual focus is also provided.

Canon 4x Optical Zoom Lens
PowerShot G6's high quality images originate in its superb its zoom range, which is the equivalent of 35 - 140mm in 35mm terms, ultra-fast f/2.0 - 3.0, 4x optical zoom lens, 28% faster in zooming and 4x optical zoom lens. It delivers sharp and high-contrast images no matter the subject is close or distant.

Built-in ND Filter
A built-in Neutral Density filter reduces light received by the CCD by approximately three f/stops, allowing unusually shallow depth-of-field in daylight photography and other special effects.

Multi-mode Flash
In addition to the full range of Canon Speedlites, the new 580EX Speedlites can also be attached to PowerShot G6. Specialized models such as Canon's Macro Twin Lite MT-24EX and Macro Ring Lite MR-14EX are also perfect match for extreme close-up photography.

In addition to three metering methods (Evaluative, Center-weighted Average and Spot Metering) and nine White Balance settings, PowerShot G6 features Exposure Compensation (± 2 EV in 1/3-step increments) as well as Auto Exposure Bracketing to assure perfect results under all lighting conditions.

Flexible Image Storage
Recording formats include 16 JPEG quality modes plus RAW mode for still photos, two quality settings for movie mode. FAT 12, FAT16 and FAT 32 formats are supported, and Type I and Type II CF slots are provided for Compact Flash or IBM Microdrive™ storage.

Photo Effects Mode
Another built-in tool for added creativity is Photo Effects Mode, which allows the user to select 5 different colour photo effects from vivid, neutral to sepia, or customise effects according to your own preference.

Three-Minute Movie Mode
While optimized for still photography, PowerShot G6 also records up to three minutes of Motion JPEG moving images with audio and provides in-camera editing and playback with sound.

Direct Print Mode and PictBridge™ Compatible
The PowerShot G6 like all Canon digital cameras, features direct photo printing and is compatible with all PictBridge compliant printers and all Canon direct photo printers, including the CP-220 and CP-330 dye sublimation printers, and Canon Bubble Jet Direct Photo Printers, such as the i80 portable A4 printer, and desktop models such as the i990 and i9950. Via its bright, TFT LCD monitor, users can control all print functions, including photo selection, print quantity, bordered or borderless prints and even image cropping. They support Exif 2.2 and ensure excellent digital imaging performance.
